Vintage China Hire


 Serendipity can deliver your chosen items, set up and style your event if you wish and also provide catering for you too. Serendipity can collect wash the dishes too - leaving you to enjoy your special occasion.

Serendipity's  unique collection is perfect to hire for photo shoots, film, television and theatre as well as corporate events.


Serendipity has a vast range of tea cups, saucers, side plates, milk jugs, sugar bowls, teapots, cake stands, sandwich plates and platters and ephemera. Serendipity has lovingly collected a variety of fabulous china all with a gorgeous mix-match of styles and patterns which will create a vintage eclectic feel. Serendipity normally provide a mixed supply of china however all our china is photographed so if there is something specific you would like, please feel free to request it.

Silver & Linen

Serendipity can also supply a range of extras which will really add to the authenticity to your occasion,  sugar tongs, butter curlers, cake slices, bunting, table cloths, napkins, doilies as well as glass dishes, jugs, fruit bowls, sweet jars, bottle vases for one stem flowers and pretty tea light jars.

Serendipity is constantly adding to its accessories and props so please ask if there is anything you need, we may have already sourced it!

Serendipity have some interesting items in its collection which may add interest and authenticity to your event or occasion such as vintage suitcases, old books, dressing table items, dressing up box, vintage cameras, candelabras, old photographs, pictures, picnic baskets and boxes. We have also recently added a wishing tree to our collection.

Also available are beautiful vintage style name tags which can be tied to your cutlery, napkin or tea cup to fit perfectly with a vintage theme.

Terms & Conditions

Serendipity's vintage china hire service is based on 3 days hire, however longer hire can be arranged if required.

Vintage china items occasionally have imperfections. All items will be checked before hiring and will be highlighted to the client. It is the responsibility of the client to check the hire items prior to use and the client must inform Serendipity of any differences its assessment.

A deposit of 20% of the total hire charge will be required within 7 days of booking to secure your date and the final balance of the booking will be required 7 days prior to the booking date.

Payments can be made by cash or credit card by calling in to the shop, BACS transfer payment can also be arranged.

Serendipity require a bond of £150. This will be returned to the client on safe return of all items without any damage or breakages. If any damages do occur, please return the items to us so they can be identified and replaced.

Missing items or Items which are returned damaged will be charged at its full replacement value - this will be deducted from the bond.

All of the china is extremely fragile and will be packed safely and securely. It is the responsibility of the client to ensure all items are returned in the same way.

Before returning the items we ask that all food debris is removed before packing - we will wash items as most of them won't be dishwasher safe.

Cancellation of hire service is required in writing only at least 30 days prior to the event. Clients cancelling after the 30 day hire period will lose their deposit and may also be asked to pay the outstanding balance.

Clients accepting services provided by Serendipity automatically accept the Terms and Conditions.

Serendipity reserve the right to amend the Terms and Conditions at any time.
